The Head of the Christina
WHO WE ARE
WYRA is a very unique program. Most crews we race against are club and school programs, but WYRA is a composite program made up of public, private, parochial and home schooled kids from Delaware, Southeastern Pennsylvania, Northeastern Maryland and Southern New Jersey.
WYRA’s mission statement is to promote physical, mental, and social wellness in young people of all backgrounds, using the sport of rowing and related educational programs to instill essential lifelong values including responsibility, self-discipline, teamwork, leadership, commitment, and the pursuit of excellence.
The money raised from the Head of the Christina goes right back into WYRA to help continue teaching area youth the fine sport of rowing.
