Rowing Tanks
The rowing tanks seat 8 rowers and are housed in a heated, separate room off the side of the boathouse. The tanks are filled with water (approx. 2 ft deep) and the rowers use real oars. This gives them the feel of rowing while still being in a secure, indoor facility. There are large mirrors on the walls so rowers can see themselves and monitor their technique. The coach can stand at the front to conduct practice.

WYRA charges $100/hr with a two hour minimum. Rowers will also have access to vending machines, a water fountain and indoor bathrooms.
Function Room Rental
Upstairs Room
The 2,500 sq ft upstairs room can be rented for almost any private or corporate function. Please note we do not have a licensed restaurant kitchen nor warming ovens, so please let your caterer know ahead of time.
WYRA does not have any deals with any caterers, bands or entertainers so you can hire whoever or whatever you’d like for your function. However, there is a local caterer who has catered several events at WYRA so we can put you in contact with them if you’d prefer. You can also decorate the room anyway you’d like. All we ask is that you return it to its original state when you leave.
Boathouse Rental FAQs
Who can rent the boathouse and why would I want to?
Anyone who needs a large space for a meeting, party, or whatever else you can think of, can rent the boathouse. We’ve hosted Sweet 16s, rehearsal dinners, after prom parties and Christmas parties. We have an enormous upstairs room that can be used for almost any function.
Do you have any arrangements with specific caterers or can I hire anyone I want?
No, we don’t. You can hire any caterer, band, entertainer or whoever else you may want. Catering Concepts is someone we've worked with often and knows the facility well, but you can bring anyone in.
Can I decorate your upstairs room any way I want it?
You bet! It’s your party or meeting, so please feel free to do whatever you’d like. All we ask is that you return the room to us in the same condition you found it in.

Corporate Rowing is an excellent way for businesses to share in team building experiences. Each program is completely customized to fit your business's needs.
Our experienced staff will introduce your team to the principles of rowing and lead lessons at our boathouse before getting out on the water to engage in the challenge—and fun—of this Olympic sport. This is an all day training event with multiple session periods during the day.
