Head of the Christina 2009 – Bigger and Better than Ever!
The 11th annual Head of the Christina Regatta (HOCh) will take place Sunday, October 4, 2009, on the Christina River along the Wilmington Riverfront. This year’s race breaks all records as the biggest HOCh ever! Preliminary weather reports call for 70 degrees and sunny…perfect conditions for our rowers!

Day of Race – Registration starts at 8:00 a.m. If you haven’t already pre-registered, please make sure you bring your waivers with you. You can download the form from the USRowing website. Coxswains will meet on the WYRA docks at 8:15 a.m. First race starts at 10:00 a.m. and the last race is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
Food and Beverages – A wide selection of food and drinks will be available for purchase at a nominal price. Beginning first thing in the morning, we’ll be serving breakfast sandwiches, bagels and cream cheese, and granola bars. Later, spectators and rowers will be able to enjoy sausage and peppers, meatball sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, a variety of pasta salads and fruit salads, and desserts. Beverages will include bottled water, coffee, hot chocolate, sports and various soft drinks.
