WYRA is a 501 (c)(3) not for profit organization that offers a variety of recreational and competitive rowing programs for youth from Delaware and southeastern Pennsylvania. We use the sport of rowing to teach responsibility, self-discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork as a means of helping youth raise their self-esteem and to prepare them to withstand the pressures facing them each day.

Located along the beautiful Wilmington, DE, Riverfront area, the WYRA boathouse is home to competitive youth crews in the fall and spring; winter conditioning in our weight room, indoor rowing tanks, and our ergometer room for those participating in fall and/or spring crew; summer ROW-FOR-IT!^TM camps; and WYPERS, recreational rowing for adults during the summer.

WYRA is a very special group of athletes, friends, family, volunteers and supporters, and we could not operate or provide the level of events and services without the support from you. If you are interested in helping us continue to deliver exceptional programs to our community, please take a look at the following ways you can help.

Gifts of Cash/In-Kind Equivalent

Obviously an organization such as WYRA is in need of many items to sustain our competitive crew and summer youth programs…and money is the currency that gets us what we need (click here for a look at our 2010 Wishlist). We greatly appreciate your donation, whether it’s a one-time gift or one that is planned over a specific timeframe. You can specify how your funds are to be used or leave it up to the staff to determine how best to use your thoughtful donation.

In addition, many of our community members and local businesses have services or products that we can use to help the WYRA program, enhance the boathouse or make a regatta/event extra special. Volunteer meals, local products, printing services, loaner vehicles, use of safety boats, among others will gladly be used and a tax deduction can be arranged.
