Row-For-It! Summer Program
WYRA summer rowing camp programs are open to all youth 10-17 years of age. Through strong partnerships with local schools and YMCAs, WYRA uses crew as a vehicle to raise self-esteem and teach responsibility, self-discipline, sportsmanship, pursuit of excellence, and teamwork.
Row-For-It!™
Join the crew! Now in its 18th year, ROW FOR IT! introduces kids to the wonderful sport of crew. Rowing exercises more parts of the body than any other sport and is great for stamina and agility. Campers will learn to row first on ergs and then in WYRA’s state-of-the-art indoor rowing tanks before rowing on the Christina River in 60’ racing shells, always accompanied by a coach in a motorized launch. Our skilled and caring staff provides fun on and off the water.
Rowing 101
Think you might like to row in college? Or in high school for WYRA?— ROWING 101 is a perfect introduction to competitive crew. Our coaches are college varsity rowers who can teach you the basics of rowing and talk to you about the high school/college-rowing scene. This camp is a great chance to see if crew is for you.
