It’s that time again! Daylight hours are longer; the temps are warming; and the WYRA spring season is just around the corner. Varsity Crew practice starts February 22, 2010, and Novices start February 23, 2010, 3:30-6:00 pm! Registration forms are online for download, and same as last season you can pay your dues online via PayPal or credit card. Dues for all varsity and returning novices are due by February 9. New novice rowers have until March 9. For tentative race schedule, please check the calendar. Save the date – For prospective rowers and their parents, WYRA will be hosting an open house Sat., Feb. 20. 10 am to 12 noon.

Many thanks to all for your support this past fall. Special thanks to Diane Clemens and Neila Gerard who did such a wonderful job on our holiday fundraiser as well as all of you for supporting our fundraiser. We’ve received many Holiday cards and e-mails from WYRA alumni and their parents bringing us up to date on their whereabouts and their exploits. Many reminisce about how much fun they had at the Boathouse and how meaningful their days at WYRA were. One Mom sent a very generous donation and told us we’ll never know how important her son’s time at WYRA was…

The greens & wreaths are here! Poinsettias are due in Thursday, December 3, 2009, early afternoon. We would like all rowers or rowers’ parents to pick up Thursday and Friday from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Saturday is not available for pickup. We do have some extras due to the way we have to purchase the items (by case). There’s 2 Classic 25″ Wreaths ($28), 1 Victorian 25″ Wreath ($32), 1 Classic Spray ($22), and 5 Victorian Sprays ($25) – purchase them Thursday or Friday.

Welcome to the 2009 Head of the Christina Regatta! This USRowing registered race is 2.75 miles long and passes under four bridges. Proceeds from the Head of the Christina Regatta support the Wilmington Youth Rowing Association (WYRA) programs including its summer ROW FOR IT! community rowing camps for kids 10-14.
