John Cohn
John Cohn was named the Head Boys Coach in February 2009 after assisting Mark Muzzi with the Varsity Girls. John comes to us with experience rowing at the Miami Beach Rowing Club, University of Delaware and the Pennsylvania Athletic Club, where he won the USRowing National Championships and Royal Canadian Henley Regatta. He was also selected for the US Maccabi Games Rowing Team in 2007. Most recently, John was named the Senior Lightweight Coach for Penn AC’s prestigious summer program.

Mark Muzzi
Mark Muzzi is in his sixth year as the women’s head coach of WYRA Women’s rowing team. Before coming to WYRA , he was the head novice women’s coach at the University of Delaware. Mark has earned Level II coaching certification from USRowing. Mark is a graduate from the University of Delaware, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice.
Rowing Highlights: Mark started rowing as a sophomore at Wilmington Rowing Club (now WYRA). During his time there, he placed 3rd at Schoolboy National and 5th at Junior Nationals in Indianapolis in the junior 1x. While at the University of Delaware, as a freshman his novice lightweight 8 won Dad Vails. As a master rower, he has medaled in USRowing Master’s National in both the men’s 4+ and 8+ .
Chip Stetson
Chip is our Novice Boys Coach. He recently moved to Wilmington to take a job as a simulator instructor at Flight Safety International. In high school he rowed all four (4) years. He attended Florida Institute of Technology and was coached by Bill Jurgens and Casey Baker. For three (3) consecutive years Chip was a Dad Vail finalist, including one national championship, as well as numerous SIRA and FIRA event and championship wins. In 2006 through 2009, Chip served as coach for the Fall Novice Crew at the Darlington School in Rome, GA.
Dom Difrancesco
Dom is our Novice Girls coach. He is currently attending the University of Delaware and rows as a lightweight. Dom graduated St. Joseph’s Prep in 2005 where he achieved the following: Lightweight 8 2005, Stotesbury Champ, Cinnci (Youth Invites) Champ, 1st Team All-Catholic, Philadephia City Champ, 2V Heavy 2004, Stotesbury Champ, Philadelphia City Champ, 1st Team All-Catholic. At the University of Delaware in 2009-Lightweight Program- Point trophy and CAA- champ 2x. As an sssistant coach at the University of Delaware in 2007- JV4 that won Eastern Sprints
Craig Deppert
Craig has been WYRA’s Assistant Men’s Coach 2005 to present. He is married to Mary J. Deppert and has three daughters: Lydia, Age 11 going on 22, Anna: Age 10, Grace Age: 7. Since 1992 he has been a memeber of the Undine Barge Club, Boathouse Row, Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Marietta College where he rowed as a Lightweight (1979 to 1983).
Rowing Highlights: US Rowing National Championships: Gold Medalist, Master Mens’s Lightweight Champion 1X, Intermediate Men’s, Lightweight Champion 4X, Senior Men’s Lightweight Champion 4X; Silver Medalist, Intermediate Men’s Lightweight 2X, Senior Men’s Lightweight 2X; Bronze Medalist, Intermediate Men’s Lightweight 1X, Senior Men’s Lightweight 1X; US Olympic Festival, Gold Medalist, Men’s Lightweight 2X.
